Comfy Quilts strengthens QA procedures with lock Metal detectors

Lock has continued its recent success in the home textiles market with the supply of 5 metal detection systems to Comfy Quilts Ltd.

Comfy Quilts have been manufacturing high quality duvets, pillows, cushions and bed linens for over 40 years. They started business in Milnrow, Lancashire in 1971 and grew the business steadily before acquiring the Bedcrest brand and its Vitafibres manufacturing facility in 2000. More recently Comfy acquired Snug Textiles in Gateshead, thereby strengthening their position as one of Europe’s leading home textile manufacturers.

Lock Metal DetectorAs part of their rigorous QA procedures Comfy Quilts use metal detection systems from Lock Inspection Systems. These are installed at both the Middleton and Gateshead sites and use the latest technology to ensure product integrity and brand protection. Pillows, duvets and cushions are scanned as a final check before dispatch to Comfy Quilts’ extensive customer base.

‘We approached Lock as they have a long-standing reputation within our industry and were able to design bespoke systems to cater for our wide range of products’, commented Garry Jackson, Operations Manager at the Middleton factory. ‘Lock’s metal detectors are easy to use and have integrated seamlessly into our production line’.

Comfy Quilts are in the process of opening a further production site at Stakehill, near Middleton and will be adding more Lock metal detectors as their business continues to grow.
